Air Conditioning for Homes

Can you get air conditioning installed at home?

Yes. With increasingly warm summers and hotter hot spells, air conditioning has become more common in homes all over the UK, but probably more so here in Essex and the South East. Having air conditioning installed at home can keep you comfortable during the day, especially if you work from home, either full or part time, as many more of us are doing post-pandemic.

Can you sleep with air conditioning on at home?

A good quality air conditioning system at home will be extremely quiet, which means it won’t get in the way of sleep, especially during the hotter months or during a heat wave when sleeping at night can be hard work. Worse of course for those of us that work nights, and might need to catch up with sleep during the daytime.

We tend to stick to systems from Fujitsu, Mitsubishi or Daikin that are reliable, excellent quality and almost silent when they’re on and keeping you cool. Perfect for letting you get a good night’s sleep, no matter how hot it gets outside.

Does Air Conditioning use a lot of energy?

We only supply and install air conditioning systems with exceptional energy efficiency ratings. Depending on your needs and how you plan to use your system, you might actually save money.

Can Air Conditioning be used to heat my home too?

Yes, which leads on nicely from the last question. Most domestic air condition systems that come rated A++ for energy efficiency could save a significant amount of money when compared to a traditional radiator central heating set up. Air conditioning is commonly used to heat and cool homes.

What type of air conditioning systems are suitable for home use?

The most common type of air conditioning used in homes is wall mounted. This is mainly because it’s the most affordable option as installation doesn’t necessarily involve any building work or mess and often no need to touch up any decorating. The units are normally long, thin and placed high on a wall.

At the other end of the scale there are ducted systems. The most visually appealing, because they are mostly hidden with only a discreet grille visible in the ceiling, but also the most expensive option. There are advantages and disadvantages to this type of system, and we would recommend getting in touch if you’re thinking about a ducted air conditioning installation.

The third main option is a low-wall mounted system. These are placed low on walls in a similar arrangement to radiators and are popular because of this. Low-wall air conditioning is often used in conservatories or loft conversions, but they are equally suited to any room in your home.

Other things to consider

If you thinking of getting an air conditioning installation in Essex, please contact us and we will be happy to help. You will want to consider how many rooms you want to install for, how big those rooms are, even the layout of your home can effect how best to go about considering an air conditioning install. The other important factor is what the systems look like aesthetically. Some systems can be almost invisible, but if it is going to be seen, you will want to make sure it isn’t unpleasant on the eye.
